Description
The typical Lauragais church is a small rural building dominated by a high-high-high-corntent-world surrounded by a municipal cemetery. Erected in the 16th century and restored with vault to the 19th, the church consists of a single nave with a bedside table. The murals were created in 1950 by François Bernadi, assisted by his young brother-in-law, the painter Carlos Pradal. In 1996, François Bernadi again restored the church, thus completing the decor of the nave and creating that of the porch. The whole represents the legend of Saint Apollonia as well as various moments of the life of Christ, all against the backdrop of landscapes of the Lauragais.
