Description
This medieval barn was once a dependence on the Cistercian abbey of Bonnefont, which was founded around 1136-1137. Although it undoubtedly dates from that time, it was only mentioned in the documents from 1246 and was probably renovated in the 16th century. The barn adopts a rectangular shape and has a floor. The north and west facades have no openings on the ground floor, but have semicircular arcades. The southern facade, which corresponds to the accommodation, retains a medieval door on the ground floor as well as two large windows upstairs. The facade is displayed a semicircular gate decorated with rose and denticle sculptures, typical of the Southern Cistercian art. This barn is the last vestige that escaped the dismantling of the abbey in the 19th century, with the Convers building.
