Description
As the circular towers show, the castle is built on the site of an old fortress mentioned for the first time in the 12th century during a donation made by Bernard de Mouchac at the Abbey of Sauve-Majeure. In the 17th century, the castle was modernized. In 1885, a fire ravaged part of the central structure. The castle kept its defensive square plan. Two towers with slots and jaws frame a construction in Arcades, which is pierced with a large monumental door, preceded by a terrace surrounded by balusters. The main access is preceded by a courtyard surrounded by annexed buildings with square angle pavilions and a stable. In the south, the old service buildings were destroyed in the 17th century and were replaced by an honor grid, supported by square pillars surmounted by fires. A well integrates overall and opens on a path which leads directly to the parish church.
