Description
The door was built in 1748 under the direction of Tourny. She replaced a medieval door which had herself preceded a Roman door. The construction, supervised by neighbor, was completed in 1750. The decoration was carried out by Claude Francin and consists of four trophies placed at the ends of the pediments. On the west side, we find the coat of arms of France and a cartridge indicating the year 1748. On the east side, there are the coat of arms of Bordeaux and a cartridge with a representation of the head of Neptune accompanied by sea calves. During the Revolution, the central arcade panels and the counters were removed, which have become unnecessary with the abolition of the grants.
