Description
The decorative motif and the presence of the emblem of Henri II on a keystone suggest that this house was built during the reign of this king. The main body of the house is between a courtyard withdrawn from the street and a farmyard. Its facades have two bunk levels, adorned in a classic style. A spiral staircase is integrated into an autonomous pavilion, placed in angles facing the courtyard, and is lit by a loggia or a firm on the facade. This house illustrates the understanding that his architect had of the theory of ancient orders, probably thanks to the reading of treaties. The structure shows how a provincial prime contractor perceived and interpreted the classic style in the middle of the 16th century.
