Description
The barony of The Hague, with her castle, was an area of rivalry and hostility towards Paulmy, who was Catholic, while the castle was under the control of François de la Noue, nicknamed "arms of iron", a Protestant leader. The fortress includes a mainly feudal building, which was rebuilt and enlarged in the 16th and 17th centuries, following the wars of religion. On the one hand, it is finished by a rounded gable, surrounded by two extensions and flanked by two towers. On the southern facade of the enclosure, you can see the lower part of a hemircular tower. To the north are the remains of a large circular tower, which was probably the dungeon. Finally, in the east, there are two service buildings, both equipped with rump roofs dating from the 17th century.
