Description

Built between 1875 and 1878, this tower was intended for the production of hunting lead. It was acquired by the La Vieille lead plant around 1935, then by the Société des Mines and Fonderie de Pongibaud, and later by the Tréfimetaux company, before being bought by the municipality. The tower is about 60 meters high and has a diameter of 11.30 meters. The molten material was poured from the summit and solidified when falling, to be recovered then on the ground. The protected elements include the climb, reception tanks, an oven, two fusion tanks and various tools.
