Description
The prefecture is installed in a group of buildings built in the 18th century by the Compagnie des Indes. The two pavilions on both sides of the grid which closes the honor courtyard display an architectural style typical of Louis XV. At the rear of the large courtyard, located between the wings, there is a garden, separated by a stone fence and a openwork communicating gallery which connects the offices. Each pavilion has five large openings curved on the main facades, surmounted by mascaroons, and four openings on the side facades. Inside, the office of the Admiral Prefect Maritime is decorated with woodwork.
