Description
The existence of a coëtbo manor has been recognized since the 15th century. It was the property of Le Borgne in the 15th century, April and the Gallery in the 16th century, Troussier at the beginning of the 17th century, and of the Marnière, which were linked to the parliamentary elite of Rennes until 1792. The current building would be the result of a progressive reconstruction started in 1620. In 1647, Mr. and Mme de Pontchâteau called on the Royal Architect Adding a main building that extended the original buildings. After 1685, when Julien de Marnière acquired Coëtbo, his successors removed the towers and other vestiges of the medieval manor and improved both the interior and exterior spaces of the castle.
