Description
The Carmelites of Ploërmel were a community derived from the Carmelites of Vannes, founded on October 15, 1627. A document of December 9, 1676 provides interesting information on the initial state of the establishment and its evolution: the buildings, arranged around a square cloister, included a kitchen, a refectory, a capitular room, a chain room ... on the first floor, were the cells of the nuns, lingerie, and a work room. The current chapel was built around 1750. Carmelites were expelled on October 1, 1792.
