Description
The first enclosure of Ploërmel, probably dating from the 11th century, was largely destroyed during the conflict between Eudes II and Duke Conan. The walls were renovated during the reign of Duke Geoffroy (from 1169 to 1186). This speaker, with an area of two hectares, was surrounded by a dozen laps. Very damaged by the wars of the 15th and 16th centuries, it almost completely disappeared in the 18th and 19th centuries. The only traces that remain are the towers of Thabors and Bembro, as well as the ramparts of Sénéchal-Perret square, which are now quite altered.
