Description
The construction of the building started in 1324 and used small materials. Baixas limestone is used for major support elements and vault ribs. Pebbles from the Têt river have been fixed with lime mortar and, in certain places, Roman cement. Brick is the most commonly used material (for load -bearing walls, vaults, small roof walls and openings). Small side cheneals are made of green ceramic in green color. Since Baixas limestone cannot be sculpted, the rare decorations (moldings, gargoyles) are made of red sandstone. The replacements are made up of molded cement mortar and are based on an iron structure. They date back to the end of the 15th century.
