Perpignan : House called Casa Xanxo

This house was built at the beginning of the 16th century for a rich textile merchant named Xanxo. It is designed in the Catalan style of the time. Its facade, in stone and brick, has two rows of very prominent and rustic bosses. The front door, located in the center, is semicircular, with an archivolt made up of keyboard in one room. A second roll of keyboards is decorated with a sprinkler decorated with foliage patterns. Two square windows with columns flank the door. Above, a strip decorated with patterns extends over the entire width of the facade. The first floor has three windows, one was replaced by two modern windows, while the other two are still in place. The whole ends with a very prominent roof, in accordance with local traditions. Inside, the vestibule is decorated with two doors, and on each side are two vaulted rooms with crossed ribs.
