Description
The structures of this dyeing were erected between 1784 and 1787 by Jean-Baptiste-François Auvray, a dyer, who managed the establishment until the 1825. The site also included a large master's house. Established along Robec, the buildings are distributed on three levels, with rooms for washing, biting, dyeing and drying. The whole, built in bricks, is in poor condition, having been reused on multiple occasions in the 19th and 20th centuries as a school, housing and restaurant, while having undergone several acts of vandalism. The master's house is a large structure of five levels, well arranged, in bricks which were once covered, and its interiors have been widely modified.
