Description
This holiday home was built near the small Saint-Clair beach for the Dollander family, first in 1949 for the rooms and the living room, then in 1951 for the kitchen. The architect Henri Prouvé made the plans, and the manufacturer Jean Prouvé built it. Erected on a slab, this house illustrates the constructive approaches imagined by Jean Prouvé to create an industrialized architecture adapted to the habitat. It is surrounded by a folded steel central beam, supported by gantries, and has a roof made of integrated steel bins used as bracing. The house retains its original furniture, which were drawn and manufactured by the proven workshops in Maxéville (54).
