The construction of the lighthouse took place between 1861 and 1863 under the directives of the architect and engineer Léonce Reynaud. Built in blackcurrant stone, the lighthouse includes a rectangular building with two apartments and a square tower that protrudes slightly at the front. In 1976, the lighthouse was electrified and automated.
