Description
A set of fortifications was established by Napoleon I to improve the defense of the coasts of the Mediterranean. The work began in 1810, but the majority of the forts were built between 1841 and 1861. The Lequin battery was in the form of a rectangular building, with its entrance oriented to the west. A first battery, built in 1794, was revised in 1811, then again in 1847.
