Description
Appointed governor of Poitou, the Duke of Sully built this building, probably under the direction of the architect Charles Androuet of the hoop. The hotel was erected in a single piece, in well -worked stone, according to the styles of the end of the Renaissance. It includes two bunk basements, accessible by a spiral staircase. The lower basement has a basket-shaped vault with a key forming a rib. In the large staircase, the levels are based on edge vaults, while the crawlers are vaulted as a cradle. On the ground floor, the main room has a large fireplace decorated with cariatides and detailed sculptures. The beams of the ceiling, the joists, as well as the paneling, the doors and the shutters of this room are painted and golden.
