Description
The church was built on the site of an old Gallo-Roman temple dedicated to the gods of the forest, whose materials were used for its foundations. En 1719, l'église était quasiment en ruines et il a fallu deux années de travaux pour la remettre en état pour le culte. En 1850, la nef a été entièrement restaurée, avec un décor sculpté sur les frises et les chapiteaux. The facade, which does not have multiple arcs, displays a unique porch without a tympanum, supported by small committed columns, and is part of the traditions of the Romanesque school Poitevine. The transept is surmounted by a dome of Aquitaine origin.
