Description
This old chapel, dating from the first half of the 12th century, probably belonged to the buildings of a priory linked to the Abbey of Bourg-Dieu, located in Indre. She was dedicated to the Holy Virgin. It is a single nave chapel with a pentagonal apse, a beautiful 15th century frame and remarkable capitals that show the richness of the community. These limestone capitals of the 12th century are in the old apse and are supported by half a-column against the wall. The marquee on the south side illustrates the temptation of Christ. On the other side, we see the devil, the temple of Jerusalem, and Christ in a Mandorle, who rejects the temptation to throw himself down by saying "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself from here". Between these two scenes, an angel deploys his wings. The marquee on the north side represents two scenes from the deliverance of Saint-Pierre. The old chapel was sold as a national property after 1791.
