Pouant : Domaine de Puyraveau

The domain was established by Henri Avril, who was mayor of Pouant between 1892 and 1906. He built several buildings for wine -growing exploitation between 1880 and 1885, including a wind turbine which stopped operating around 1940. This wind turbine is of the Bollée type and dates from 1885. It is supported by a pruning stone with tie rods that retain a hollow cylindrical column, Maintained by steel shrouds fixed either in the walls or on the floor. The structure is made of steel. The staircase ramp is decorated with a "pine cone" at its base. The staircase itself has a bolted and riveted silt, with around fifty full trapezoidal steps (from 1885, the steps will be hollow to avoid rust). Close to the wind turbine, there is a well protected by a square turret outside and oval inside, built in coated rubble and size stone. A horizontal axis, driven by a conical couple in the third lantern of the wind turbine, crosses the tower and transmits the movement to a second axis equipped with a full wheel, which could receive a bucket chain. The water was stored in a 6000 -liter sheet reservoir, supported by stone posts (which have since disappeared). A small grid closed access to the garden. The master's house retains some decorative elements, but most of the remaining interior decorations have been repainted. Two adjacent gardens extend, including the one where the wind turbine is located. This garden included an arrangement with a pool and a system of gutters supplied by the wind turbine, as well as a cave in rockery.
