Description
This castle, originally feudal, is surrounded by four towers and is near a chapel. Its original appearance was altered by added openings, the destruction of a tower during the Revolution, and other modifications in the 18th century. It is a monument built in bricks and stones, which is part of the Renaissance style castles located in the Garonnaise plain. It presents a decoration inspired by antiquity, with fluted columns and capitals of Doric, ionic or Corinthian styles, applied to a feudal inspiration structure. The door dating from 1550 leads to a spiral staircase. The large room on the first floor, with a 16th century fireplace, is decorated with murals. Another room has a painted ceiling from the 17th century.
