Sérandon : Sainte-Radegonde Church

The church, built in the 12th century, has a single nave which was divided into three naves in the 15th century, a period in which it was also vaulted. The five -sided apse also dates from that time. In the aisles, we can still observe the and a half-column pilasters dating from the 12th century. The porch, which is adorned, also dates from this period and is flanked by two semicircular arches supported by columns with sculpted capitals. Between these columns, there are high reliefs representing: Daniel receiving food from the angel, two characters in front of a dish, a bearded horse man followed by two sheep, as well as a lion accompanied by two animals faced. The door, which was renovated in 1755, replaced a 12th century door. Outside the porch, a headband illustrates the signs of the zodiac and the activities of the months.
