Description
A remarkable example of 18th century architecture in Toulouse. This hotel was built in 1745 to replace several buildings destroyed with a fire. It was produced according to the plans of the architect Maduran, with a Louis XV style facade which marries bricks and stones. The facade overlooking the square presents a central pre-corps which emerges slightly, composed of three spans, surmounted by an pediment with an oculus, and flanked by two lateral sections of five spans each. The ground floor has continuous arcades. Inside, on the first floor, a large living room is decorated with a ceiling painted from the Charles X period. The inner decor of the 18th century was lost during various fittings. The staircase is decorated with a wrought iron ramp in Louis XV style. This building was built by Henri-Joseph Lafage, descendant of an old noble family.
