Description

Caseneuve, the Madagascar commander, resided there. He is famous for his key role in the establishment of French supervision in Madagascar, where he became the nearby advisor and the doctor of Queen Ranavalo Manjaka. The main facade of this house evokes certain styles of colonial architecture, with its vast covered balcony. It is decorated with 19th century ceramic plates, illustrating allegories of Christian art and the Renaissance. The loggia is framed by two groove columns with ion style capitals. A small sandstone oratory is installed in a niche on the side wall.
