Description
Established in 1829, the Brickyard of the Virebent brothers prospered thanks to a mechanical process and a cutting method for the manufacture of decorative appliques for facades. It also made large parts using mussels. In 1858, Gaston Virebent began to produce porcelain stoneware and the enameled terracotta, leading the factory until his death in 1925. One of his sons continued activity at an artisanal level until 1965. The vestiges of this brickterie, located near the large square fireplace dating from the 1870s, include the leftovers of a circular. Cooked dating from the 19th century, enamel ovens, a small inverted flame oven and a 20th century moufle oven. In the mold preparation space, there are some models of these. Having marked with its imprint the style of Toulouse architecture with its ornamental and decorative bricks, this ceramic plant incorporates several elements: above, there is a building housing the housing of the foreman; The stables display at the entrance to ceramic decorations inspired by the famous frieze of the Archers of Darius, and higher, a driving room. The Italian style villa, the Virebent family's residence, has decorations, just like the park, made on site.
