Description
The chapel was erected on the site of the Hermitage of Saint-Gobrien, bishop of Vannes who died in 725. A first building was built in the 11th century, and there are some fragments in the nave. The rest of the structure reflects several construction phases: in the 15th century, the southern portal of the nave was added and entirely rebuilt the western facade. The wall that separates the nave in two, currently occupied by a chancel, could date from the 16th century, just like the house of the chaplain which is stuck to the north wall of the nave and is in direct communication with the tribune located in the western part of the nave. Inside the church is the tomb of Saint-Gobrien, dating from the 14th century. Today, the chapel is a pilgrimage site.
