Description
The hermitage is located on a rocky crest that overlooks a meander of the Agly. This place and its sanctuary were built on the site of an old castle mentioned in the 11th century. The chapel, accessible by a staircase of 51 steps, was built in place of a previous sanctuary dedicated to Sainte Anne. It is a single nave building, with a visible frame resting on broken arcs, and a polygonal choir vaulted as a crusader of warheads. The construction of this chapel started at the beginning of the 16th century for the choir, and the nave was carried out a little later. The buildings located south and east of the chapel are more recent, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries.
