Description
The construction of the Archères, which are long but without calipers, suggests that this building dates back to the 13th century. It is possible that the tower has only been used for surveillance by the monks of Saint-Martin-du-Canigou, whose abbey directly overlooks Goa's ridge. Circular in shape, the tower has a wider base. Access is by an opening, without any old management. Above, a high dome vault covers two floors, separated by a floor with visible embedding marks. These levels are linked together by scales, and with the upper floor by a passage located north-east of the vault. Each of the floors has seven archères whose orientations vary from one level to another. At the base, only six archères remain, the seventh having been replaced by the opening.
