Description
The first mention of the castle dates from 1012. It was partially destroyed in 1474 during the occupation of the province by Louis XI, then was completely demolished by explosion after the Pyrenees Treaty in 1659. The castle benefited from a natural defense on its western flank thanks to a vertical wall. To the east, the slope being softer, it was necessary to set up a defensive system. Today, there are only a few wall foundations and the base of a cylindrical tower. The castle is separated from the first defensive system by a ditch, partly natural and partly dug, which gives it the appearance of a building located on a barred spur.
