Description
This emblematic castle of the Second Empire was built in 1855 by the architect Lubac and a model farm was added in 1874. Erected in a tuffeau in a style inspired by the Renaissance, its shape is rectangular and it is flanked by four turrets to the corners. The exterior is largely decorated with sculptures, especially on the western facade. The sculpted patterns include scrolls, palms, shells, heads, masks, fruits and animals. Inside, the reception rooms display painted ceilings, works by Lachaise artists.
