Description
The castle was built between 1530 and 1540, probably by François Fume, who was the mayor of Poitiers. It consists of a main rectangular building flanked by two circular towers at the rear. Two short perpendicular wings surrounded the courtyard, but they were destroyed during the second half of the 19th century. On the ground floor, the windows are decorated with capitals in the shape of ram horn scrolls, with abaches decorated with plant patterns or masks. The base of the spiral staircase was on the west facade. Inside, you can find vaulted cellars with semicircular arches.
