Description
This college, thanks to the restoration work carried out by Viollet-le-Duc, is an important witness to the university life in Toulouse during the Middle Ages. These establishments, which were numerous in the past, were founded in the 14th century to welcome disadvantaged students, offering them housing and scholarships. Rebuilt in 1523 by the architect Louis Privat, the building retains the style of the southern Toulouse Gothic, a brick architecture characterized by false jaws and openings in the round under the roof. The restorations carried out by Viollet-le-Duc between 1870 and 1871 did not modify the character of the building.
