Description
The church of the Récollets, often called "Calvary", was the old chapel of the convent of the minor brothers of the strict observance, founded by Louis XI. Built between 1482 and 1487, it originally included a nave with a polygonal bedside and a wooden vault. During the first half of the 16th century, it was enlarged with the addition of four chapels on its north wall. The first three chapels were merged to create a sort of side nave, while the fourth chapel, initially dedicated to the Annunciation and whose arcade has been walled, has become a sacristy. The church is made of visible brick and has a large roof covered with flat tiles. The convent itself was destroyed during the Revolution.
