The old church, built at this location after 1550, suffered damage during a flood in 1772. A new building was built in 1777, with modifications made in 1907, including the removal of the north side. Originally, the church included a nave with two chapels in front of the choir. At the beginning of the 20th century, these chapels were extended to the bell tower. The choir is richly decorated, with stucco, paintings (made between 1772 and 1780) and false marbles.
