L'Isle-en-Dodon : Saint-Adrien Church

The construction of the church could go back to 1307, commanded by the Count of Comminges to serve its castle. The choir and the bell tower would be vestiges of this first construction. The architecture of the choir has a military aspect. The openings above the arcs connecting the buttresses and the loopholes in the facade of these foothills suggest that a defensive floor has been provided between the summit of the vaults of the sanctuary and the underside of the upper platform. The top of the foothills have slots. Two large square scales, also crenellated and surmounted by a pyramid roof, flank the sanctuary at the north and southern ends. The bell tower stands west of the nave, with a square ground floor used as a starter. Just above, the plan becomes octagonal for the four levels, the three upper people of which are decorated with ogival windows on all sides. The sanctuary includes four stained glass windows of 1509, attributed to a pupil of Arnaud de Moles, the creator of the stained glass of the Auch cathedral.
