Description
Built at the beginning of the 15th century, the castle served as a residence for the mayor of Poitiers in the 17th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was sold and stripped of its carved decorations and its furniture. Today, there remains an in L building, surrounded by outbuildings, as well as the ruins of a chapel and a dovecote. The main building, located at the western corner of a tower that houses a spiral staircase, retains Gothic style windows dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. Inside, in the north wing, the two rooms on the first floor still have their Gothic style chimneys and cushiones. In addition, the second floor of the south wing has also kept a Gothic fireplace. From the chapel, there remains only an apse with flat oak bed with crusaders of warheads.
