Description
The abandonment of Acadia, following the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713, led to the arrival of thousands of refugees in the ports of the motherland. An integration attempt was made in Poitou. A colony was established on the lands of the Marquis Pérusse des Cars between 1773 and 1774. 58 standardized farms were built along straight lines. This set is known as "Acadian line". These farms combine the accommodation, the barn, the stable and the attic under one roof. The walls, made of brande and silt from the plateaus, are covered with a lime coating and are based on a flint stone foundation. House n ° 6 is one of the most authentic in the line, keeping almost all of its earth walls as well as traces of the exterior and interior coating.
